Job summary

DMC Biotechnologies, Inc. is seeking a Research Associate to join our Fermentation team in RTP, NC. The role focuses on demonstrating strain and process performance at bench scale and supporting technology transfer of strains and processes.

Ideal candidates will have microbial fermentation experience, learn new concepts quickly, and collaborate effectively in a small, dedicated team. This is a 12‑month grant‑funded project, with full DMC employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in biology-related field.
• 1 year of laboratory experience.
• Experience with bench-scale microbial fermentation and aseptic technique.
• Strong data‑driven analysis and SOP/protocol drafting skills.
• Able to manage multiple workflows and work in cross-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Bioreactor setup, monitoring, and turnaround.
• Analyze, summarize, and report on experiments.
• Maintain instruments and coordinate repairs.
• Maintain laboratory records and quality tracking.
• Uphold safe practices and work environment.
