Job summary

DMC Biotechnologies is seeking an Associate Project Manager to join the R&D team in RTP, NC. The role requires a minimum of 2 years in biotech project management, preferably in industrial fermentation and synthetic biology, with responsibilities spanning charter creation, planning, execution, and stakeholder communication.

This 12‑month project position is grant‑funded with an anticipated October 2026 start and a compensation range of $85,000–$105,000 annually based on experience and position

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biotechnology or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 2+ years of project management experience in biotech, preferably fermentation and synthetic biology.
• Proven track record of managing projects from initiation to completion within timelines and budgets.
• Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
• Experience with Smartsheet, Confluence/Atlassian and Jira is highly desirable.
• PMP certification or equivalent is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define project scopes, objectives, and deliverables.
• Develop project charters, plans, timelines, and budgets aligned with milestones.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement contingency plans.
• Serve as primary contact for stakeholders, facilitating regular updates.
• Prepare status reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate resource allocation and optimize staffing to meet timelines.
• Mitigate risks and resolve issues to maintain project momentum.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
