Job summary

BOLD Business is seeking a design-driven Senior Federal & Workplace Design Specialist in Capitol Heights, MD. You will lead complex design scopes, drive strategy, and serve as a technical resource for the team on GSA and government projects.

You will mentor junior designers, coordinate with sales, and produce sophisticated space plans, visuals, and documentation to win high-visibility contracts. Strong CAD/CET skills and government project knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from a FIDER or CIDA-accredited design program or equivalent experience.
5+ years of progressive industry experience in complex commercial interiors or government projects.
Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with CET Designer/ProjectSpec.

Responsibilities

Lead CET drawings, furniture plans, specs, 3D visuals, and presentation materials.
Ensure GSA, codes, and procurement requirements are met in space planning.
Create installation drawings and contract-aligned specification packages.
Conduct field verifications and resolve discrepancies between plans and site conditions.
Mentor Designer I/II and collaborate with Account Executives, VP of Sales, and government stakeholders.
Represent design in client meetings, government presentations, and coordination discussions.
Provide regular project updates and help shape direction and priorities.
Stay informed on product innovations and sustainability for team knowledge.
