Job summary

BOLD Business in Capitol Heights, Maryland seeks a motivated Federal & Workplace Design Specialist to support GSA and government contracts. You will develop your technical skills and learn complex contract processes while translating client requirements into compliant, high-performance workplace environments.

As an entry-level professional, you will assist with drawings, space plans, and client presentations under senior guidance, building expertise in systems furniture and project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited interior design program.
• 0-2 years of industry experience (internships acceptable).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with CET Designer and ProjectSpec desirable.
• Interest in systems furniture and public sector environments.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop CET drawings, furniture plans, product specs, 3D visuals, and client presentations.
• Learn to integrate codes (ADA, LEED, WELL) and government procurement requirements.
• Prepare installation drawings and specification packages.
• Assist in field verifications, inventories, and measurements.
• Collaborate with senior designers and account executives on project visions.
• Participate in client meetings to build presentation skills.
• Provide project status updates to Design Managers.
• Learn from Designer III team members.
• Adhere to design standards and quality-control checklists.
• Develop baseline understanding of product innovations and sustainability.
