Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to drive the technical strategy for Federal proposals, translating client needs, capture strategies, and compliance into compelling, compliant solutions across systems engineering, IT, and mission support.

The Senior Architect will own technical volumes, interview SMEs, integrate partner capabilities, and coordinate with BD and Capture to ensure the final response is credible, customer-focused, and aligned with win strategies.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance; US citizenship required.
• 10+ years in FAR-based and OTA Federal technical solutions development.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, or related field (8+ years of additional experience may be considered as equivalent to Bachelor’s degree).
• Strong systems engineering background with multidisciplinary systems integration.
• Hands on experience architecting technical solutions for federal proposals.
• Proven ownership of technical proposal sections or full technical volumes across complex RFI/RFP responses.
• Ability to translate customer needs, capture strategy, compliance requirements, and technical inputs into a clear proposal response.
• Strong understanding of the federal growth lifecycle including BD, capture, solutioning, proposal, and customer positioning.
• Outstanding technical writing skills with ability to explain complex engineering concepts clearly.
• Experience interviewing SMEs and turning technical inputs into structured proposal content.
• Experience across domains such as systems engineering, mission IT, cloud, cybersecurity, operations and maintenance, or mission support.
• Experience with teaming partners to integrate capabilities, solution approaches, and supporting pricing or BOE inputs.
• Demonstrated knowledge of AI and ML platforms and tools.

Responsibilities

• Serving as the senior technical architect across the pursuit lifecycle and within an integrated growth team, including proposal, capture and business development activities.
• Providing end-to-end thought leadership across proposal responses that include elements such as technical solution, staffing, implementation schedule, and BOE
• Providing expert technical writing capabilities in the development of technical artifacts, white papers, statements of work, briefings and proposals.
• Working with teaming partners to develop technical solutions, integration of teaming partners’ capabilities, and pricing strategies, etc.
• Exploring new approaches/enabling technologies to drive solution innovation and improvements and ensure corporate solutions are relevant for current and emerging trends
• Supporting the capture of business and technical requirements and clearly convey them to audiences of varying technical skill levels.
• Leading and mentoring junior staff in responding to RFI’s and RFP’s
• Working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment, completing multiple complex tasks simultaneously.
