Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Senior Technical Escalation Engineer focused on Federal Networking - Switching. This on-site role in Herndon, VA requires active TS/SCI clearance and deep experience with Juniper EX/QFX switching technologies within secure environments.

You will lead executive-level escalations, perform advanced root cause analysis, and coordinate with Engineering to validate fixes. Strong communication and lab-repro capabilities are essential for success.

Qualifications

TS/SCI clearance required.
On-site in Herndon, VA 5 days a week 9AM-5PM EST.
10+ years of enterprise networking experience.
5+ years of switching experience.
5+ years in a senior escalation, TAC, Tier 3 Support, or Advanced Services role.
Deep expertise with Juniper EX and QFX platforms.
Strong knowledge of EVPN/VXLAN, BGP, OSPF, Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, and data center fabrics.
Demonstrated experience performing advanced root cause analysis across networking, software, and hardware domains.
Strong packet analysis and protocol troubleshooting skills.
Experience reproducing customer-reported issues in lab environments and partnering with Engineering to identify defects and validate fixes.
Experience supporting mission-critical Federal, DoD, Intelligence Community, or other secure environments.
Strong communication skills with the ability to manage technical and executive stakeholders.
Preferable Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

Lead resolution of high-priority and executive-level customer escalations.
Serve as a senior GovTAC escalation point for Federal customers using Juniper switching technologies.
Drive troubleshooting during Severity 1 incidents and production outages.
Perform advanced root cause analysis across networking, software, and hardware domains.
Analyze packet captures, logs, protocol behavior, and system diagnostics to isolate complex issues.
Reproduce customer-reported issues in lab environments and partner with Engineering to identify defects and validate fixes.
Develop mitigations, workarounds, and long-term corrective actions.
Collaborate with Engineering on defect identification and product improvements.
Mentor engineers and share best practices and knowledge.
