Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Systems Engineer for a Federal program located at Pearl Harbor, HI. The engineer will support a large-scale enterprise network, handling LAN/WAN/WLAN, routing, switching, and network security with Tier III escalation responsibilities.

Qualifications

Active Secret Security Clearance.
DoD 8570.01 IAT Level III certification or equivalent such as CASP+/ CISSP/ CCNP Security.
A recognized network vendor certification such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP/CCIE.
Subject Matter Expertise in BAN/LAN/WAN/WLAN and Network Boundary engineering.
Extensive experience with high-level network maintenance, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Experience providing Tier III escalation in large-scale enterprise environments.
Experience with SAFe Agile methodologies and JIRA.
Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
DoD program experience and network automation exposure.

Responsibilities

Lead efforts to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network issues in a large enterprise.
Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot switches, routers, VLANs, APs, firewalls, and sensors.
Provide engineering support for a large intranet environment.
Serve as Tier III escalation resource for incidents, coordinating with vendors as needed.
Act as SME and escalation backstop across network disciplines.
Troubleshoot routing, switching, SD-WAN, MPLS, VPNs, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP and multicast.
Develop and maintain Engineering Implementation Plans (EIPs) for changes.
Create/change management tickets for deployments and upgrades.
Perform Root Cause Analysis and support problem management.
Participate in engineering, architecture, and project meetings for future solutions.
Track work in Agile/SAFe framework using JIRA.
Participate in DSUs, PI activities, and other Agile ceremonies.
Maintain configuration baselines, changelogs, and backups.
