Qualifications

• BS or MS in Engineering or Construction Management with a minimum of 5 years in estimating field.
• 10+ years of experience in construction.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Proficiency in specialized estimating software.
• Understanding of how market conditions affect pricing.
• Federal bidding/estimating experience desired but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead all estimating efforts on complex and large-scale projects, including conceptual estimates, negotiated bids, budgets, general conditions, and value engineering.
• Ensure the estimating process runs smoothly and exceeds client expectations.
• Build relationships with clients, designers, and subcontractors to align on needs.
• Analyze drawings, specs, proposals to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Facilitate collaboration among team members and communicate with stakeholders.
• Support business development through presentations and interviews.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and apply unit pricing to establish project value.
• Understand full project scope via document review and design-team questions.
• Prepare cost comparisons and reconcile with previous estimates.
