Job summary

APTIM is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Estimator to join our Knoxville, TN team. This role focuses on developing accurate cost estimates for federal government projects, including DoD, DOE, FEMA, and other agencies.

You will lead estimate development from concept to final proposal, mentor teammates, and coordinate with BD, engineering, procurement, and construction. Strong Excel, InEight/Sage/RSMeans experience and knowledge of FAR/DFARS preferred.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years in construction/environmental estimating, preferably federal.
• Experience with DoD/DOE/FEMA or similar agencies.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of estimates from conceptual planning through final proposal submission.
• Prepare accurate estimates using limited or evolving project information.
• Develop ROM, parametric, and bottom-up estimates for various project types.
• Lead major proposal estimating efforts with cross-functional teams.
• Incorporate subcontractor and vendor quotations into estimates.
• Perform constructability reviews and identify risks and cost drivers.
• Develop pricing strategies, labor rates, indirect costs, and documentation.
• Review estimates and provide technical guidance to teammates.
• Support proposal development with Business Development and Capture teams.
• Contribute to improving estimating processes, tools, and models.
• Present estimate assumptions, methodologies, risks to senior leadership.
• Manage multiple estimates with aggressive proposal schedules.
