Job summary

APTIM seeks a Senior Construction Estimator in Baton Rouge, LA to develop accurate, competitive cost estimates for construction and environmental projects with a strong federal focus (DoD/DOE/FEMA). You will lead proposal estimates and coordinate cross‑functional teams to deliver complete pricing packages.

Ideal candidates bring 5–10 years of estimating experience, proficiency with InEight/Sage/RSMeans, advanced Excel, and the ability to mentor others while guiding pricing strategies across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Cost Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
• 5–10 years of construction/environmental industry experience, preferably federal projects.
• 5–7 years of estimating and preconstruction experience.
• Experience supporting DoD/DOE/FEMA and other federal/state/local agencies.
• Advanced Excel skills and knowledge of cost modeling.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of construction cost estimates from concept to final proposal.
• Prepare estimates using limited project information with industry data and SME input.
• Develop ROM, parametric, and bottom-up estimates for diverse projects.
• Lead major proposal estimating efforts with cross-functional teams.
• Incorporate subcontractor/vendor quotes into estimates.
• Perform constructability reviews and identify risks and cost drivers.
• Develop pricing strategies, labor rates, and indirect cost allocations.
• Review colleagues' estimates and mentor junior staff.
• Support business development and capture teams for competitive solutions.
• Improve estimating processes, tools, and models.
• Present estimates and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Manage multiple estimates to meet aggressive proposal schedules.
