Job summary

Requirements include 10+ years in legislative affairs and a Bachelor’s degree, with an advanced degree preferred. Onsite in DC with travel and long hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred in a relevant field.
• Minimum 10+ years of professional experience on legislative matters in private sector or government.

Responsibilities

• Support Government Affairs as a front-line advocate on national security, defense, and intelligence.
• Shape legislative strategies and policy development for federal government, especially defense committees.
• Develop and maintain relationships with federal officials, lawmakers, and regulators.
• Manage consultants and third parties in SpaceX government affairs matters.
• Draft legislative language, hearings, testimony, and policy positions.
• Monitor national security policy and funding developments; prepare leadership presentations.
• Conduct research, develop policy materials, and produce collateral.
