Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) is seeking a Senior Accounting Technician to join the Finance team supporting a large federal agency. The role involves managing accounts payable, reimbursements, collections, and overall account oversight.

Qualifications include a two-year accounting degree (or four-year related field), strong Excel skills, and experience with UFMS, JEDI, SAFARI, E‑2, and SAMS.gov. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in accounting or four-year degree in finance, business, banking, or economics, with 30 credit hours in accounting.
• Knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems used by banking, financial and other institutions.
• Experience with commitments, obligations, and interagency reimbursement agreements.
• Experience with quarterly review, accrual and closeout process.
• Ability to analyze financial data and provide technical support.
• US Citizenship required; ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• UFSM, JEDI, SAFARI, E‑2, and Excel proficiency.
• Budgeting cycle management and financial reporting.
• Accounts payable and accounts receivable management and processing.

Responsibilities

• Verify, analyze, and maintain financial information used by the DOJ Office of the Comptroller.
• Use UFMS, JEDI, JEDI-2, SAFARI, E-2, and SAMS.gov to analyze complex data sets.
• Record and retrieve financial data related to reimbursable and billing processes.
• Track expenditures across multiple accounts in a financial management system.
• Generate reconciliation reports and reconcile ledgers weekly.
• Prepare financial reports for DOJ and other U.S. government agencies.
