Job summary

Contact Government Services (CGS) seeks a Senior Accounting Technician to join our finance team supporting a large federal agency. You will manage accounts payable, reimbursement activity, collections, and oversight of accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance across multiple systems.

The role requires attention to detail, analytical thinking, and strong organizational skills. You will work with UFMS, JEDI, SAFARI, and Excel to analyze data and prepare reports for government reviewers.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in accounting or four-year degree in a related field (finance, business, banking, or economics) with 30 credit hours in accounting.
• Knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems used by banking, financial and other institutions.
• Experience working with commitments, obligations, and interagency reimbursement agreements.
• Experience with the quarterly review, accrual and closeout process.
• Ability to provide analysis and technical support for a variety of financial activities.
• Ability to identify and analyze change in budgetary and/or financial activities.
• Must be a US Citizen upfront.
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
• UFSM, JEDI, SAFARI, E-2, and Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Verify, analyze, and maintain financial information used by the DOJ Office of the Comptroller.
• Use UFMS, JEDI and JEDI-2, SAFARI, E-2, and SAMS.gov to analyze complex data sets.
• Record and retrieve financial data related to reimbursable and billing processes.
• Track expenditures of multiple accounts in a financial management system.
• Generate reconciliation reports and reconcile books weekly.
• Prepare financial reports for DOJ and other agencies.
• Assist DOJ sections with UFMS transaction processing and resolve system errors.
• Compose memorandums and correspondence related to financial activities.
• Maintain office files, databases, and schedules; support web conferences and meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned for division projects.
