Job summary

CGS is seeking a Senior Accounting Technician to join our Finance team supporting a large federal agency. This role encompasses management of accounts payable, reimbursement activity, collections, and account oversight, in a fast-paced, policy-driven environment.

Ideal candidates hold a two-year accounting degree or a four-year degree in finance or related field, with knowledge of UFMS/JEDI/Safari/E-2/SAMS.gov and Excel, and must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in accounting or four-year degree in finance related field with 30 accounting credits.
• Knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems used by banking, financial and other institutions
• Experience working with commitments, obligations, and interagency reimbursement agreements
• Experience working with the quarterly review, accrual and closeout process
• Ability to provide analysis and technical support for a variety of financial activities
• Must be a US Citizen upfront
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable, reimbursement activity, collections and account oversight.
• Generate reconciliation reports from financial management system and reconcile financial books/reports weekly.
• Prepare financial reports and documentation for review and signature by DOJ Office of the Comptroller and other agencies.
• Assist and provide support to other sections of DOJ in UFMS transaction processing.
• Composes memorandums and correspondence, maintain office files and records, and support web conferences.
