Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) is seeking a Senior Accounting Technician to join the Finance department, supporting a large federal agency. Responsibilities include accounts payable, reimbursements, collections, and account oversight.

The role emphasizes compliance with federal policies, data analysis, and cross‑section collaboration across DOJs and other government partners. Candidates should have a two‑year accounting degree or equivalent and be able to obtain a Public Trust

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in accounting or four-year degree in a related field with 30 credit hours in accounting.
• Knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems used by banking, financial and other institutions.
• Experience with commitments, obligations, and interagency reimbursement agreements.
• Experience with quarterly review, accrual and closeout process.
• Ability to provide analysis and technical support for financial activities.
• Ability to analyze changes in budgetary/financial activities.
• US Citizenship required upfront and ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and reimbursement activity.
• Reconcile and maintain financial information for DOJ and other agencies.
• Prepare financial reports and documentation for review and signature.
• Assist in UFMS processing and resolve system errors.
• Compose memorandums and correspondence related to financial activities.
• Support other DOJ sections with UFMS processing and data retrieval.
