Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to lead production-grade data and AI solutions on the Databricks platform. You will own architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development for enterprise customers.

This hands-on, customer-facing role requires strong coding in Python/Scala/JS, cloud experience, and Spark expertise. Expect ~20% travel and Databricks Certification preferred.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, analytics, or software engineering.
• Proficiency in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Spark knowledge.
• MLOps knowledge and familiarity with ML/AI models and APIs.
• Enterprise client delivery experience and strong documentation/whiteboarding skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade customer projects, delivering reference architectures and data ingestion solutions.
• Design end-to-end data and AI architectures with scalability and security in mind.
• Collaborate with engagement managers to scope technical delivery work.
• Embed with customer teams to understand challenges and deliver measurable impact.
• Provide feedback to product teams and drive rapid issue resolution.
