Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer to partner with customers on data & AI challenges using the Databricks platform. You will own architecture, lead design decisions and implement end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development.

This hands-on, customer-facing role requires delivering production-grade solutions, guiding strategic customers, and embedding with client teams to drive adoption and measurable outcomes. Travel ~20% is expected.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Proficient in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP cloud ecosystems, at least one in depth.
• Deep Spark knowledge and understanding of runtime internals.
• CI/CD familiarity for production deployments.
• Knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• Design and deployment of end-to-end data architectures with ML integrations.
• Experience delivering technical projects with defined scope and timelines.
• Strong documentation and white-boarding skills.
• Experience with enterprise clients and stakeholder management.
• Curiosity, adaptability and ability to learn new tech quickly.
• Willingness to travel 20%.
• Databricks Certification.
