Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer to work with federal, state, and local government customers, building and productionizing data and AI solutions on the Databricks platform.

You will own the architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end-to-end systems across data engineering, AI, and application development. This hands-on, customer-facing role is hybrid with 20-25% travel to client locations.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Fluency in Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks.
• Two or more cloud ecosystems with expertise in at least one (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark.
• CI/CD for production deployments.
• MLOps and AI models knowledge for production use.
• End-to-end data architectures combining pipelines, ML/AI and interfaces.
• Technical project delivery, documentation and white-boarding skills.
• Experience with enterprise clients and multi-stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade projects delivering reference architectures and data pipelines.
• Architect and implement end-to-end data and AI solutions for clients.
• Collaborate across engineering, product and customer teams.
• Embed with customer teams and provide training and support.
