Job summary

The Dean of Students' office at the University of Missouri-Columbia seeks a Senior Student Services Coordinator to lead campus-wide family engagement initiatives and strengthen student belonging.

You will manage large events, coordinate communications, supervise student staff, and partner with academic and university units to enhance the family experience and support student success.

This role requires independent leadership, budget oversight, and data-driven program evaluation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 3+ years experience.
• Experience with large-scale events.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage budgets and assess outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive family engagement initiatives and innovative programs.
• Provide operational leadership for signature university programs including Family Weekend and other family engagement opportunities.
• Direct all operational logistics for programs and events, including timelines, campus coordination, vendor management, risk management, and event implementation.
• Manage program budgets, purchasing, contracts, reconciliation, and fiscal stewardship.
• Lead comprehensive communications for current and prospective student families through campus engagement platforms, including audience segmentation, messaging strategy, and analytics.
• Partner with campus communication offices to ensure consistent, timely, and engaging family communications.
• Serve as primary resource and liaison for families throughout the student lifecycle, responding to concerns and connecting families with campus resources.
• Represent Mizzou Families during recruitment and transition initiatives and orientation activities.
• Collaborate with Enrollment Management, Advancement, and other campus partners to strengthen family engagement across the enrollment lifecycle.
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate student employees and volunteers, providing coaching and leadership development.
• Build and maintain relationships with academic colleges, Student Affairs units, alumni, and community organizations.
• Coordinate operational support for the Mizzou Families Advisory Council including meetings and volunteer engagement.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret assessment data to evaluate program effectiveness and inform strategic planning.
