Job summary

The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a Senior Facility Site Accessor with an active Secret Clearance to support a federal client at a secure campus in Washington, DC.

The ideal candidate is a well-rounded mechanical engineering professional with experience in building mechanical systems, facility condition assessments, energy assessments, building automation systems, cost estimating, and facility asset lifecycle management.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance required.
• Mechanical engineering background.
• Experience with building mechanical systems and facility assessments.
• Experience with energy assessments and BAS.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate inventories and condition assessments of building components, with emphasis on MEP systems.
• Identify and document deficient conditions with narratives.
• Recommend corrective actions for deficiencies to support repair, modernization, and lifecycle cost estimates.
• Lead field surveys and ensure quality control of data and reports.
• Communicate project status, risks, and findings to management and teams.
• Prepare facility assessment and energy audit reports.
• Review BAS performance data for energy optimization opportunities.
• Review cost estimates and advise on database cost data modifications.
• Apply asset-management principles to guide ongoing projects.
• Stay current with MEP trades, standards, codes, and terminology.
• Prepare training materials on building mechanical systems for team members.
• Collaborate with government stakeholders, facility managers, contractors, and project teams.
• Report to secure federal campus in Washington, DC as required for field investigations and meetings.
• Travel at least 50% to support surveys, assessments, audits, training, and coordination.
