Job summary

Crockett Facilities Services in Washington, DC is looking for a Maintenance Technician for the Local 99 union, offering $30/hr. Mon–Fri, 10am–6pm, on-site. Reports to Chief Engineer and handles boiler and building system upkeep.

The role covers operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical and control systems, preventive maintenance, and timely tenant service requests. Safety training and occasional overtime are expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years maintaining equipment in commercial or government buildings.
• High school diploma or GED; vocational training preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of engineering and building systems.
• Must be licensed and able to meet licensing/certification requirements.
• Universal CFC certification.

Responsibilities

• Control daily operation of all mechanical equipment in the plant and buildings.
• Perform maintenance and repair of Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, Structural, Fire, LifeSafety and Controls systems.
• Monitor refrigeration, boilers, HVAC, pumps, valves, piping and controls; change bulbs and ballasts as needed.
• Troubleshoot building MEP systems with little or no supervision.
• Complete tenant service requests accurately and with minimal disruption.
• Maintain maintenance logs and records; perform preventive maintenance on schedule.
• Follow safety procedures and participate in emergency procedures and training.
• Work overtime and weekends as required.
