Job summary

Crockett Facilities Services in Arlington, VA is seeking a Chief Building Engineer responsible for the operations, maintenance and repair of boiler and auxiliary boiler room equipment, heating, lighting, ventilating, air conditioning, power refrigeration, and building electrical and pneumatic controls.

This non-exempt position requires 5+ years in commercial or government facilities, a valid license, Universal CFC certification, and the ability to work long hours including some weekends.

Qualifications

• 5+ years maintaining equipment and systems in commercial or government buildings.
• Must be licensed and able to meet city/state/federal licensing requirements.
• Universal CFC certification required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of mechanical equipment in the plant and buildings.
• Perform maintenance and repairs across mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and control systems.
• Monitor refrigeration, boilers, HVAC, pumps, and piping, and replace lighting components as needed.
• Troubleshoot MEP systems with limited supervision.
• Handle tenant service requests with minimal disruption.
• Maintain maintenance logs and records.
• Complete preventive maintenance tasks on schedule.
• Follow all building policies and procedures.
• Participate in emergency procedures and safety training.
