Job summary

KARL STORZ North America in Charlton, MA is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic II to ensure reliability, safety, and full functionality of our facility, equipment, and infrastructure. The role performs preventive and corrective maintenance across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general building systems, diagnosing issues, repairing them, and identifying cost‑effective improvements.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, onsite with occasional on‑call and travel within Charlton, MA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years of maintenance experience in facility/manufacturing.
• Experience with electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on facility systems, manufacturing equipment, and building infrastructure to support reliable operations.
• Complete work orders involving electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, equipment repair, and general building maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot equipment and facility-related issues, identify root causes, and recommend cost-effective repair and improvement solutions.
• Support facility upkeep projects, including furniture repair, lighting replacement, concrete/asphalt maintenance, and material transportation.
• Partner with internal teams and external vendors to ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including 6S activities and preventive maintenance programs.
• Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and provide regular updates on project and repair status.
