Job summary

St. Charles Health System is seeking a Maintenance Engineer II to oversee skilled maintenance and repairs in our Facilities department.

The role focuses on keeping the hospital infrastructure, boilers, chillers, HVAC, and life-safety systems in peak condition to ensure patient and caregiver safety and comfort. The candidate will troubleshoot complex systems, read blueprints and instructions, and work with the supervisor on projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; trade certification or equivalent experience considered.
• Journeyman HVAC/R or plumbing certification or Oregon electrical license required per role.
• Valid Oregon driver\'s license and ability to travel to worksites.
• 5 years in facilities and plant operations with boiler and chiller experience; hospital maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and troubleshoot hospital facilities and equipment.
• Operate and repair boilers, chillers, HVAC and life-safety systems.
• Write PMs, WO\'s, and TC\'s; close them after completion.
• Respond to alarms and security calls; support VIP Lean initiatives.
• Train staff on safety, life safety and utility procedures.
