Job summary

KARL STORZ is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician in Charlton, MA to maintain and improve our facility, equipment, and infrastructure. The role requires hands-on maintenance across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general building tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities include performing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and coordinating with internal teams and vendors to ensure safety, compliance, and uptime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of maintenance experience in facility, manufacturing, industrial, or related environments.
• Demonstrated experience with electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance methodologies and facility infrastructure systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on facility systems, manufacturing equipment, and building infrastructure to support reliable operations.
• Complete work orders involving electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, equipment repair, and general building maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot equipment and facility-related issues, identify root causes, and recommend cost-effective repair and improvement solutions.
• Support facility upkeep projects, including furniture repair, lighting replacement, concrete/asphalt maintenance, and material transportation.
• Partner with internal teams and external vendors to ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including 6S activities, infrastructure upgrades, and preventive maintenance programs.
• Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and provide regular updates on project and repair status.
