Careers In Government, Inc. is hiring for a Building Maintenance Supervisor responsible for directing a team in the maintenance, repair and alteration of county buildings and facilities.

The role requires coordinating projects, reviewing plans, and ensuring adherence to established standards in a county environment. The position emphasizes supervision, scheduling, and collaboration with management to meet deadlines while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in building repair and maintenance work.
• Possess a valid California driver's license at time of appointment and maintain.
• Some positions in this classification will be subject to criminal history background checks pursuant to the human resources rules and regulations, section 2, B.

Responsabilités

• Direct, plan and coordinate building maintenance projects.
• Communicate effectively with others in person, in writing and over the telephone.
• Analyze data, interpret policies, procedures and regulations, develop appropriate conclusions, and prepare reports.
• Meet deadlines under stressful conditions.
• Resolve conflicts and respond appropriately to complaints.
• Complete multiple priority projects with conflicting deadlines.
• Maintain confidential information in accordance with legal standards and/or County regulations.
• Work from ladders, various heights and awkward positions.
• Frequently lift and move objects weighing over 100 pounds with assistance.
• Train, evaluate and supervise staff.
• Walk, stand, stoop, kneel or crouch on narrow, slippery or uneven surfaces under various environmental conditions.
• Perform a full variety of emergency maintenance and repairs.
• Work in a correctional facility.
• Frequently work around dust, dirt, strong odors and noise.
• Frequent use of depth perception, peripheral vision and color perception.
• Sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
• Occasionally reach, push, pull, twist and manipulate large and small objects.
• Occasionally kneel, bend, twist, squat, climb, balance and crawl.
• Frequent use of hand-eye coordination.
• Frequent use of a data entry device including repetitive hand and arm motion.
• Regular attendance is an essential function.
