Job summary

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago is seeking a Senior Maintenance Associate to ensure the cleanliness, safety, and upkeep of assigned buildings, coordinate and supervise vendors, respond to work orders, and support facility operations across sites.

The role requires experience in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, and general maintenance; willingness to travel and work varied hours; full-time benefits include health, retirement, PTO, and more.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 1–3 years relevant experience.
• Experience with electrical work, plumbing, general building maintenance, painting and HVAC.
• Associate's degree holders have 3–5 years relevant experience.
• Preferred CMRT, HVAC Certification; CAMT, BOC, OSHA Safety Certification; FMP.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on building systems, equipment, and fixtures; conduct inspections to identify safety hazards and cleanliness standards; may travel to other locations for support; available evenings and weekends.
• Oversee major cleaning projects such as painting (interior and exterior), floor care, and deep cleaning; ensure facilities are clean and safe.
• Monitor building-related mechanical systems; handle work orders promptly; coordinate with property management and vendors; report major repairs to supervisor.
• Maintain exterior grounds and perform basic janitorial duties; work collaboratively with other staff and participate in ongoing training.
• Engage in ongoing learning and skill development to contribute to team success.
