Job summary

The Archdiocese of Chicago is seeking a Maintenance Associate to maintain interior and exterior spaces across multiple sites, ensuring a clean, safe environment for daily operations and events.

Responsibilities include on-call scheduling, project work (floor care, painting, carpet cleaning), and coordinating with vendors. Requires travel to sites, outdoor work in varying weather, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years relevant experience in maintenance or related field.
• Prior experience with electrical work, plumbing, and/or painting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain interior and exterior areas to ensure a safe, clean environment.
• Provide on-call scheduling across buildings, including evenings and weekends.
• Travel to multiple sites within the assigned area and to other buildings when on call.
• Assist with projects like floor stripping/waxing and carpet cleaning; seasonal maintenance including snow/ice removal.
• Coordinate with external vendors and supervise contractors to ensure quality and timeliness.
• Engage in ongoing learning and skill development to improve performance.

Education
