Job summary

Elder Care Alliance, through AlmaVia of San Rafael, seeks a Facility and Maintenance Director to supervise security, maintenance, and grounds, oversee capital improvements, and guide the plant team to deliver safe, high-quality service to residents.

The role requires strong leadership, knowledge of building codes, Cal-OSHA and life-safety standards, and hands-on expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; some college coursework preferred.
• Contractor’s license preferred but not required.
• 6 years’ experience in facilities management; 3 years in health care/retirement environment.
• Advanced building codes, life safety, Cal-OSHA knowledge.
• HVAC/boiler, electrical, plumbing, mechanical equipment expertise.
• Strong verbal and written English communication.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preventative maintenance of systems, buildings, and grounds; manage external contracts.
• Manage capital projects: bids, contractors, purchases, budgets; produce status reports.
• Supervise maintenance operations and track work orders; promote energy conservation.
