Job summary

Success Academy Charter Schools seeks a Leader, Renovations & Facilities to oversee operations across 59 NYC schools. You will turn strategy into execution, directing vendors, and ensuring safety, compliance, and readiness for instruction.

This build-and-operate role requires managing a calendar of inspections, servicing critical systems, and maintaining capital planning data. Strong vendor governance and multi-site leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Progressive leadership experience in multi-site facilities operations with contracted workforce.
• Ownership of vendor performance, including writing specs, service levels, scorecards, and corrective actions.
• Strong technical fluency across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, controls, and life-safety systems.
• Experience delivering service in occupied schools or high-stakes environments with limited work windows.
• Knowledge of building, fire, life-safety, and accessibility requirements; engaging licensed professionals when needed.
• Experience building or expanding a work-order/asset system and compliance program.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily operating rhythm across all 59 schools with prioritization and escalation management.
• Direct preventive and corrective maintenance to keep classrooms and critical systems safe and instruction-ready.
• Own the portfolio compliance calendar for inspections, testing, and filing obligations across sites.
• Write and maintain service specifications and direct vendors' day-to-day work.
• Maintain vendor scorecards and drive corrective action when performance fails.
• Direct the NYC facilities management team, set priorities, and inspect results.
• Manage after-hours escalation rotation and ensure coverage for school leaders.
• Maintain asset inventory and support multi-year capital planning.
• Track work-order response, resolution, and preventive-maintenance quality.
• Collaborate with school leaders to resolve issues with clear ownership and timelines.
• Approve routine work within budgets and surface financial risks.
