Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Principal Facilities Engineer to lead facilities projects on site in Melbourne, FL. You will drive planning, design, and execution of infrastructure improvements, coordinating with architectural/engineering teams and managing scopes, costs, and schedules.

You will review drawings, prepare procurement documents, and manage multiple projects while reporting on risk and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in STEM or Architecture/Construction with 5 years of PM/construction/facilities experience OR 3 years with a Master's
• PhD with relevant experience acceptable
• Experience with design contracts and design reviews
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities

• Lead execution and management of facilities projects supporting infrastructure and program needs
• Gather and finalize facility requirements data and schedules
• Plan, design, and oversee building alterations and maintenance
• Coordinate with architects/engineers to develop design criteria and drawings
• Prepare scopes of work for procurement of design and construction services
• Review cost estimates including design, equipment, labor, and materials
• Inspect construction progress to ensure compliance with requirements
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and report status with risk/cost/schedule metrics
• Develop risk mitigation and schedule recovery plans
