Job summary

Corning Incorporated is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead complex optical fiber and cable manufacturing projects worldwide. You will plan, scope, coordinate, and control initiatives, providing technical leadership across facilities processes and teams.

This role requires strong project management, engineering analysis skills, and the ability to manage large external contractor groups. Your travel may be 25-50%, including international assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering or similar.
• 5+ years of field engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead one or more projects from conception to commissioning.
• Plan, scope, and implement engineering analyses and modeling for projects.
• Define scope, cost impact, activities, and evaluation methods.
• Monitor technical, cost, and schedule objectives and reallocate resources as needed.
• Drive major process-improvement initiatives to reduce costs and improve quality.
• Direct and train other engineers and staff on project execution.
• Communicate plans, progress and risks to stakeholders and document results.
