Boeing’s STL Engineering organization is currently seeking a Senior Facilities Electrical Engineer in Hazelwood, MO to support our operations in St. Louis and the surrounding areas where Boeing maintains facilities in support of production.

This role involves working within a dynamic facilities environment that supports critical production operations. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in high, medium, and low voltage systems, with a strong focus on maintaining and upgrading aging infrastructure within manufacturing facilities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead project teams in the development of complex conceptual and final designs, cost estimates, and maintenance support across architectural, civil/structural, electrical, and mechanical phases of buildings, equipment installations, utility systems, and grounds

  • Review multi-disciplinary design documents to ensure compliance with customer requirements, building codes, and applicable regulations by applying expert knowledge of construction principles, practices, and materials; take appropriate corrective action as needed

  • Lead the development and implementation of complex asset reliability improvements, including failure analysis, root cause investigations, and configuration of new assets to support reliability programs (e.g., life cycle analysis, condition-based maintenance, fault tree analysis)

  • Oversee project design documentation including the production, review, and approval of drawings, specifications, and permit packages while ensuring accuracy of drawing archives/libraries and documents construction changes for compliance and record retention

  • Lead or participate in cross-functional teams involving multiple engineering disciplines, technicians, consultants, and regulatory agencies to integrate efforts and achieve project objectives

  • Manage and support complex construction projects including vendor selection, contractor proposal reviews, project monitoring, and government interface

  • Prepare and present project information to internal stakeholders and external authorities to meet compliance and project goals

  • Identify and select appropriate materials, equipment, and services by applying engineering methodology and developing design standards and site-specific procedures

  • Translate customer requirements into conceptual and preliminary designs by assessing usage, aesthetics, and engineering needs; perform code research and develop scope, estimates, and schedules

  • Lead capital planning and infrastructure strategy by conducting condition assessments, analyzing future requirements, completing feasibility studies, and recommending improvements

  • Plan, manage, and execute large or complex projects including scope development, budgeting, contract management, and stakeholder coordination

  • Ensure supplier and contractor compliance with contractual obligations and regulatory standards

  • Interpret and apply relevant codes, standards, and regulations; propose design or process alternatives to maintain compliance

  • Provide support to obtain necessary permits and regulatory approvals

  • Participate in technical committees and contribute to long- and short-term business decision-making processes related to infrastructure and facility improvements

  • Provide electrical design, evaluation, inspection, and expert recommendations to ensure a safe, compliant, and reliable facility environment

  • Prepare and seal design drawings for permit submissions, as needed

  • Uphold all implications of this licensing responsibility including providing electrical design, assessment, evaluation, inspection, and qualified recommendations to maintain a safe and functional environment

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of science (or greater) from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering or chemistry or other technical degree

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Missouri

  • 10+ years of experience reading and analyzing engineering drawings

  • 10+ years of experience leading engineering projects

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years of experience in interpreting data and presenting analysis and/or recommendations to management

  • 10+ years of experience working with building codes and commercial construction, interpreting highly complex drawings, schematics and equipment manuals

  • 10+ years of experience estimating costs for major building projects, from construction documents, engineering technical specifications, and drawings

  • 10+ years of experience dealing with regulatory agencies or federal regulations

  • Fire protection engineering experience

  • Experience in strategic decision-making skills

  • Experience self-managing several multi-discipline projects of various levels of complexity while exhibiting stellar time management and communication skills

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range: $112,200 - $151,800
