Job summary

Oak View Group's Gaillard Center in Charleston, SC is seeking a General Manager to lead the food service operations, ensuring compliant, profitable performance and driving revenue growth across on-site concessions and premium services.

The role requires 5–7 years of management experience in food/catering concessions, a business degree (MBA preferred), and strong leadership with budgeting, menus, labor, and POS system oversight. Salary: $105k–$115k with bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• BA or BS with business-related major required
• MBA preferred; Accounting minor or credits preferred
• 5-7 years of management experience in the food-related or catering / concessions industry
• Experience in a fast-paced performing arts center, convention center, or catering venue with concessions preferred
• Nationally recognized, advanced food service sanitation training course certification
• Ability to communicate professionally with staff and guests
• Strong understanding of high-end catering, bar services, and concession dining
• Ability to make quick, sound operational decisions
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, POS systems, and timekeeping systems
• Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
• Possess Food Handler's certificate and Alcohol Service Permit if required

Responsibilities

• Ensure legal, efficient, professional, and profitable operation of the assigned venue.
• Generate and review financial reports, including budgets, projections, forecasting, and P&L statements.
• Final decision-maker on equipment purchases and leases.
• Oversee scheduling and labor allocation.
• Analyze ticket sales to forecast staffing needs and guest flow.
• Maintain POS system for accurate financial reporting and inventory control.
• Develop and mentor a strong management team.
• Review menus and marketing plans with department heads.
• Maintain relationships with show managers, suppliers, and the public.
