Job summary

CPS, Inc. is seeking a Senior Extrusion Coatings Specialist with 10+ years of experience to lead extrusion coating applications and support customer trials across the US. You will work with R&D, marketing, sales, and operations to deliver high-performance, sustainable coatings for paper-based packaging.

The role requires deep polymer science knowledge, hands-on process optimization, and frequent travel to customer sites to enable successful implementation and market adoption.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in polymer science, coatings, packaging, or related field.
• 7–10 years of extrusion, web coating, and coated product testing experience.
• Track record of supporting customers through trials and production implementation.
• Experience designing customer trials and troubleshooting coating processes.
• Engagement with downstream partners such as coaters and converters.
• Experience with paper-based substrates and extrusion coatings preferred.
• Knowledge of bio-based polymers and process tuning is a plus.
• Strong collaboration with R&D, marketing, sales, and operations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical specialist for extrusion coating applications and support trials during production scale-up.
• Design, coordinate, and execute customer trials and scale-up activities from concept to completion.
• Engage with coaters and converters to understand application requirements and drive success.
• Apply coating formulation knowledge to optimize product quality and process efficiency.
• Coordinate logistics for trials with global operations and product management.
• Collaborate with marketing and business development to drive growth.
• Develop technical literature to support customer implementation and product understanding.
• Travel to customers to identify needs and provide on-site support.
