Firestorm is seeking a Trade Compliance Officer to own and lead our Export Management and Compliance Program as we scale from prototypes to production and international partnerships. You will embed ITAR/EAR controls across engineering, deals, and supply chain to keep pace with the business.

Reporting to the General Counsel, you will shape licensing, classification, screening, and risk management, lead external counsel, and build a durable program with a team in San Diego, CA.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of U.S. export compliance experience (ITAR and EAR).
• 3+ years owning or leading a trade compliance program at a defense or aerospace environment.
• Experience securing ITAR/EAR authorizations and licenses (DDTC, BIS).
• U.S. Citizenship required due to ITAR regulations.

Responsabilités

• Own and lead Firestorm’s Export Management and Compliance Program end‑to‑end.
• Embed compliance into product lifecycle and business processes across functions.
• Lead licensing strategy, classifications, and screening for international programs.
• Coordinate with external counsel and internal stakeholders to manage risk.
• Build and grow the trade compliance team over time.
