Job summary

E-Space, based in Arlington, Texas, seeks a Head of Export and Trade Compliance to lead our global regulatory program. This hands-on role shapes strategy, builds the team, and ensures day-to-day compliance across ITAR, EAR, FTR, OFAC, and Customs.

You will report to the Deputy General Counsel and collaborate with Legal, Procurement, Engineering, and Finance. Exceptional candidates will drive scalable controls, training, and documentation, while managing cross-border export activities and audits

Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree and 10 years of prior experience in U.S. export and import compliance (or equivalent combinations of education and experience).
• Extensive knowledge of U.S. export laws and regulations, including ITAR, EAR, FTR, OFAC, and Customs regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the global Export and Trade Compliance function to support our growing business and international footprint.
• Develop and operationalize robust internal controls, governance, and scalable processes for international trade compliance across multiple sites.
• Establish documentation standards, training programs, and operating procedures; conduct trainings for employees and contractors.
• Build the team: hire and manage a team of skilled trade compliance and export professionals.
• Conduct and oversee export jurisdiction and classification determinations (CCL/USML).
• Serve as the Empowered Official (EO) ensuring compliant execution of the export/import program.
• Interpret U.S. trade regulations and provide strategic guidance to licensing and product development.
• Interface with Government Contracts and Security teams for cross-functional compliance.
• Draft and oversee licensing submissions and manage export and temporary import license applications.
• Maintain records, conduct self-audits, and oversee external audit responses.
