Join to apply for the Senior Expatriate Benefits Consultant role at Mercer.

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Expatriate Benefits team at Mercer. This role will be based in one of our major cities in the US. It is a hybrid role requiring at least three days a week in the office.

As a subject matter expert on expatriate benefits programs, you will manage expatriate medical, dental, life, and disability plans, including renewals, marketing, and projects for large multinational employers. Collaborating with domestic and international teams, you will support clients with globally mobile populations through holistic solutions.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Review client needs, recommend strategies, and implement expat benefit programs.
  2. Manage client activities and coordinate team efforts.
  3. Build effective relationships internally and externally.
  4. Analyze renewals and marketing exercises.
  5. Ensure sustainable expat program renewals.
  6. Coordinate RFPs for clients.
  7. Present marketing results and renewals to clients.
  8. Handle client communication and guide junior staff.
  9. Communicate industry trends to clients.
  10. Stay informed on vendor marketplace and compliance.
  11. Review vendor contracts.
  12. Delegate and coach team members.
  13. Develop reputation as a trusted expat advisor.
  14. Collaborate across lines of business and geographies.
  15. Participate in new business and intellectual capital development.
Minimum qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience with employee health benefits programs.
  • 2+ years with expatriate benefits programs or multinational employers.
  • Confident client engagement skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Business acumen.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Life and Health insurance license.
  • Understanding of expat challenges.
  • Underwriting or financial expertise.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • BA/BS degree preferred.
