Job summary

YMCA of Middle Tennessee seeks a Senior Executive Director to oversee operations of multiple locations under the Group VP. You will balance fiscal oversight, staff development, and high-quality program delivery with safe facilities.

You will lead teams across diverse communities, inspire staff, and ensure exceptional member experiences while upholding the YMCA mission and values, including evenings and weekends as needed. Experience in asset development and community involvement is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• Seven years of executive director-level YMCA experience.
• Passion for YMCA mission with community involvement.
• Strong leadership and staff development abilities.
• Excellent written, oral and presentation skills.
• Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Job description

Consistent with the mission of the YMCA of Middle Tennessee, and in cooperation with other YMCA staff, under the direction of the Group Vice President, the Senior Executive Director is responsible for the oversight operations of multiple YMCA locations and must balance fiscal responsibility, staff development/motivation, quality program delivery and facility upkeep, cleanliness and safety to experience success.

• Passion, enthusiasm, and support for mission and values of the YMCA with demonstrated community involvement and asset development experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences across different community contexts.
• Minimum 21 years of age
• Four-year college degree in a related field
• At least seven years' experience in an executive director-level YMCA position
• Ability to inspire and motivate staff members.
• Ability to create a culture of serving members and staff within the Centers.
• Ability to analyze complex information, and to define and solve problems.
• Excellent written, oral and presentation skills.
• Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, required.
