Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Microsoft Exchange & Email Security Engineer to administer and secure Microsoft Exchange environments, support hybrid deployments, and oversee Proofpoint-based email security.

This on-site Richmond, VA contract role requires strong messaging expertise and collaboration with IT teams to modernize and migrate to cloud-based services.

The position offers a 6‑month engagement with potential for extension under a W2 contract through Jobot.

Qualifications

• Experience administering Microsoft Exchange environments in a large enterprise.
• Advanced experience with Exchange Server, Exchange Online, Hybrid Exchange, and Microsoft 365 messaging.
• Experience administering enterprise email security platforms, preferably Proofpoint.
• Hands-on with Proofpoint TRAP or similar email threat tools.
• Strong knowledge of phishing protection, malware remediation, and secure mail flow.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Microsoft Exchange Server and Exchange Online environments.
• Manage hybrid deployments and associated M365/cloud services.
• Maintain enterprise email security platforms, including Proofpoint.
• Use Proofpoint TRAP to identify and remediate threats after delivery.
• Troubleshoot mail flow, messaging, and email security issues.
• Support cloud migration and messaging modernization projects.
• Create documentation and collaborate with IT teams to improve reliability.
