Job summary

Travelers in the United States is seeking a Major Case Specialist, Excess Casualty to investigate, reserve and resolve high-exposure injury and property damage claims within authority.

You will collaborate with legal, underwriting and other teams to negotiate settlements, develop litigation strategies with Counsel, and ensure thorough documentation. Travel may be required; licenses are required by state law. Open until Oct 19, 2026.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Five+ years of complex bodily injury and liability experience.
• Active adjuster license where required by state law.
• Experience with claims management and estimating software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to negotiate settlements and manage high-exposure claims.

Responsibilities

• Manages an active caseload of complex injury/DP claims.
• Conducts detailed investigations and establishes reserves.
• Evaluates coverage and resolves claims.
• Negotiates with claimants and attorneys for fair resolutions.
• Develops litigation strategies with Counsel and coordinates resources.
• Maintains comprehensive records and prepares reports.
• Travel may be required for mediations and trials.
• Adapts to technology rollouts, including AI.
