Job summary

The University of Miami, Division of Enterprise Marketing and Communications, has an exciting opportunity for a full time Event Manager to work in Coral Gables, FL.

The Events Manager oversees all aspects of planning meetings, conferences, workshops, seminars, lectures, and other special events for the assigned department(s). Furthermore, the Events Manager assumes responsibility for ensuring all amenities and accommodations at the event are adequate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required.
• Learning agility to adapt to procedures, technologies, and changing priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify conference facilities and negotiate contracts for on/off campus events.
• Secure speakers and presenters; coordinate travel, lodging, and fees.
• Develop event print materials and coordinate AV needs with vendors.
• Manage public relations and communications for conferences and events.
• Coordinate amenities and activities; supervise event staff and maintain timelines.
• Ensure compliance with University policies and train staff on controls.
