Qualifications

Our work brings together creative thinking, thoughtful design, strategic planning, and meticulous production to create experiences that feel current, considered, and dynamic. Our work spans brand experiences, corporate events, and social celebrations. We work with brands across technology, CPG, retail, advertising, fintech, media, and more - including Google, Airbnb, Glossier, Sephora, Spotify, Slack, and Wrangler.

THE ROLE

We’re looking for a seasoned, strategic, and creative Senior Event Producer to join our team in NYC. Someone excited by the challenge of making ambitious ideas happen, looking to grow within a boutique agency, and helping keep our culture strong.

You’re someone who can move seamlessly between the big picture and the smallest detail, lead with confidence, and help us continue doing great work and moving this company forward.

This is not a role for someone who simply wants to check boxes and follow a production schedule. We’re looking for someone who can see the bigger picture while obsessing over the details. Someone with extensive experience in live event production and experiential who understands what it takes to bring ambitious ideas to life.

You’ll lead the planning, production, and execution of high-touch events and work closely with our internal creative and production teams, clients, and vendor partners to manage timelines, budgets, logistics, and all of the moving pieces that make an event happen.

The right person is organized, resourceful, calm under pressure, and incredibly good at figuring things out. You know that great production is equal parts planning, communication, problem-solving, and the ability to pivot when things inevitably change.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Lead end-to-end production of high-touch events, from initial planning through onsite execution and post-event wrap.
• Own event logistics and project management, including timelines, workbacks, production schedules, event specs, run-of-shows, and deliverables.
• Manage event budgets from estimates through reconciliation, including vendor quotes, forecasting, budget tracking, and identifying efficiencies.
• Lead vendor relationships across fabrication, scenic, AV, lighting, F&B, rentals, staffing, entertainment, and other production partners.
• Partner closely with creative and design teams to translate concepts into thoughtful, executable experiences while protecting the creative vision.
• Lead internal project communication and teams, keeping stakeholders aligned on scope, deliverables, priorities, and potential challenges.
• Serve as a senior client-facing lead, communicating clearly and confidently and helping clients navigate decisions throughout the planning process.
• Lead onsite production for major events and activations, overseeing vendors, staff, schedules, and execution from setup through strike.
• Contribute to new business and agency initiatives, bringing production expertise, pricing insight, and operational thinking to proposals and pitches.
• Support 23 Layers-owned experiences, including The Assembly and La Retreat, as part of our growing ecosystem of events, education, and community.

THE SKILLS THAT MATTER...

• Have 6+ years of experience producing live events, experiential marketing, or brand experiences, preferably within an agency environment
• Have a proven track record of producing complex events from start to finish
• Have strong event budget management, forecasting, and reconciliation skills
• Understand the realities of live production, including fabrication, AV, scenic, staffing, logistics, and onsite execution
• Are highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities without losing sight of the details
• Are a strong problem solver who stays calm and resourceful when things inevitably change
• Are polished and confident in client-facing situations, with exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Take initiative, think strategically, and don't wait to be told what needs to happen next
• Thrivers in a fast-moving, collaborative environment where no two projects look exactly alike
• Are willing and able to travel and work onsite for events as needed
