ABOUT 23 LAYERS

23 Layers is a New York-based global Event Planning, Production + Design Agency.

We bring together creative thinking, thoughtful design, strategic planning, and meticulous production to create experiences that feel current, considered, and dynamic. We’re a collaborative team of producers and designers who care deeply about the work and are dedicated to doing it well.

Our work spans brand experiences, corporate events, and social celebrations. We work with brands across technology, CPG, retail, advertising, fintech, media, and more — including Google, Airbnb, Glossier, Sephora, Spotify, Slack, and Wrangler.

But this company is growing beyond client events.

Beyond our client work, 23 Layers is continuing to build its own ecosystem of experiences and ideas. From The Assembly — our industry workshop and community for event professionals — to La Retreat, an immersive gathering designed to bring together women founders, entrepreneurs, and creatives in Italy, we’re creating platforms that extend beyond traditional event production.

Our team has the opportunity to contribute to these experiences and be part of a company invested in shaping conversations, building community, and moving the event industry forward.

THE ROLE

We’re looking for a talented Event Designer to join our NYC team — someone with a creative point of view, a great eye, and a genuine love for design.

You’ll assist in developing creative concepts, mood boards, mockups, 3D renderings, spatial layouts, and polished presentations. You’ll work closely with our production and planning teams to turn ideas into experiences that feel thoughtful and elevated.

  • Develop creative decks and presentations for client proposals, pitches, and new business opportunities
  • Translate creative ideas into thoughtful, executable environments while considering scale, proportion, materials, and guest experience
  • Collaborate closely with producers, planners, and clients throughout the creative and production process
  • Work with fabricators, vendors, and production partners to bring designs to life
  • Participate in site visits, creative presentations, client meetings, and onsite at events
  • Support 23 Layers’ visual presence across marketing platforms, helping organize and curate project imagery, maintain visual libraries, and create or adapt design assets for social, website, and other marketing needs
  • Contribute to 23 Layers-owned experiences and initiatives, including The Assembly and La Retreat
  • Help develop and maintain the creative standards and visual point of view of 23 Layers

  • Highly proficient in SketchUp and comfortable creating 3D concepts, mockups, and spatial studies
  • Strong understanding of layout, typography, composition, scale, and visual storytelling
  • Understand how to take an idea from concept through execution and can balance creative ambition with timelines, fabrication, and production realities
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and revisions without losing attention to detail
  • Self-starter who takes ownership, thinks creatively, and isn't afraid to jump in wherever needed
  • Highly collaborative, receptive to feedback, and comfortable working within a small team
  • Curious, resourceful, and constantly looking for inspiration
  • Willing and able to travel and work onsite for events as needed
