Job summary

Rivian is seeking an experienced automotive/EV technician to support technical publications, validate repair procedures, and improve service efficiency. You will collaborate with Service Engineering, Field Service, and Training teams, traveling up to 75% as needed to support pre-production builds and field deployments.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in automotive, 4+ years in EVs, and a degree or equivalent experience in automotive tech. Valid license and startup experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Automotive technology/technician degree or equivalent experience required.
• 5+ years of automotive experience and 4+ years of EV experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; detail-oriented.
• Ability to drive non-commercial truck and trailer; valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% and work in startup environments.
• Knowledge of EV powertrains and HV systems; diagnostic best practices.

Responsibilities

• Support creation of technical publications for service manuals (systems overview, parts, repair, labor, electrical).
• Validate repair procedures for accuracy (diagnosis, repair process, labor time, safety).
• Improve efficiency in service procedures without compromising quality and safety.
• Validate all service tooling prior to field implementation.
• Support campaigns and containment initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and assist with pre-production vehicle builds.
• Provide ad hoc service support to field and service organization.
• Mentor other team members using first principles to improve the Service organization.
