Job summary

The Air Force Civilian Service seeks a Senior Ethics Attorney Advisor to serve as Ethics Counsel in the Office of the General Counsel at the Pentagon, Arlington, VA. This full-time role focuses on ethics, fiscal, and administrative law matters for the Air Force.

Candidates must graduate from an ABA-accredited law school, be licensed to practice, and obtain a Secret clearance. Salary ranges from $143,913 to $197,200 with federal benefits.

Qualifications

• Must graduate from a law school accredited by the ABA and be licensed as an attorney in active status in a U.S. state or territory.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Certified position under NOAA 2012 Financial Management program.
• Designated as a Test Designated Position under the Air Force Drug Testing Program.
• Occasional travel and overtime may be required.
• May need to file an OGE Confidential Financial Disclosure Report annually.

Responsibilities

• Assist Deputy General Counsel in standards of conduct and related ethics issues.
• Offer accurate advice on fiscal and appropriations law, Anti-Deficiency Act, and civilian personnel laws.
• Consult with Headquarters and senior leaders for legal guidance and opinions.
• Represent the General Counsel’s office in meetings with high-ranking officials and external agencies.
• Maintain liaison with senior legal personnel and coordinate legal actions and policies.
• Represent the Air Force in conferences with DoD and other entities on ethics matters.
• Be recognized as the ethics subject matter expert within the Air Force.
• Demonstrate a complete understanding of applicable federal ethics laws and policies.
• Apply knowledge of ethics laws to support Air Force policy objectives.
• Communicate complex ethical issues clearly, orally and in writing.
