Job summary

GSA seeks a General Attorney to serve as an Ethics attorney in the Office of the General Counsel (OGC). The position is in the Ethics Law Division, handling standards of ethical conduct and related criminal conflict of interest matters, with involvement in financial disclosures and investigations.

The role supports program clients, coordinates ethics training, and provides first-impression guidance. This is a federal position in Washington with opportunities across vacancies and a starting GS-13

Qualifications

• JD from ABA-accredited law school (mandatory)
• Active Bar member in good standing in any State, DC, or territory
• At least two years of professional legal experience after bar admission
• This is a General Attorney role in the Office of the General Counsel (OGC) focusing on ethics

Responsibilities

• Work with the Ethics Law Division on providing advice and opinions on ethics rules and related statutes.
• Coordinate and participate in confidential and public financial disclosure reporting processes and communicate with filers.
• Assist with investigations of ethics-related violations as needed.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for ethics-related questions from program clients on matters of first impression.
• Assist with coordinating training programs with appropriate agency officials.

Education

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from ABA-accredited law school

Active Bar member in good standing (US state, District of Columbia, or territory)

At least two years of professional legal experience after admission to the bar
