Job summary

Core & Main, based in St. Louis and serving nationwide, seeks an Estimator II for the Critical Infrastructure Group. You will perform detailed material quantity takeoffs for infrastructure projects with moderate complexity and support bid efforts.

You will collaborate with sales, Pre‑Bid, and engineering to develop accurate scopes and competitive proposals, and mentor junior estimators while improving plan-reading and product knowledge.

Qualifications

• Experience in detailed material takeoffs for infrastructure projects.
• Strong ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
• Vendor coordination and bid support experience preferable.
• Mentoring junior staff is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent material quantity takeoffs for standard/moderately complex projects.
• Interpret drawings, specs, and notes to determine material requirements.
• Prepare scopes and material lists for sales and customers; support pre/post takeoff discussions.
• Coordinate with vendors and Pre‑Bid team to maintain accurate scope definitions.
• Mentor Estimator I personnel and advance plan-reading and takeoff accuracy.
