Confidential — Senior Estimator / Estimating Manager for underground utilities in East San Diego County, CA. This on-site role leads a 3–5 person team, delivering production estimates for large-scale dry utility projects and preparing competitive bids for major utility owners and public agencies.

The role demands strong leadership, advanced estimating skills, and experience with industry tools to drive accurate cost models and successful pre-bid strategies.

Qualifications

• 6+ years estimating underground utility or heavy civil construction.
• Experience bidding public works and utility-owner projects with prevailing wage.
• Proven leadership of a estimators team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of 3–5 estimators.
• Build production-based estimates for underground utility and civil projects.
• Prepare competitive hard bids for public agencies and utility owners.
• Perform detailed take-offs and bid schedules from plans and specs.
• Lead pre-bid meetings and bid strategy sessions.
• Define sub/supplier scopes and maintain pricing databases.
• Review estimates with Operations and secure approvals.
