Job summary

Confidential Search in East San Diego County, CA, is seeking a Senior Estimator/Estimating Manager for underground utilities. This on-site, direct-hire role leads a team of 3–5 estimators and owns the numbers and bid strategy for large-scale dry utility projects.

The successful candidate will manage, mentor, and review the estimating team, build production-based estimates, and prepare competitive bids for public agencies and utility owners.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressive estimating experience in underground utility or heavy civil construction.
• Experience leading and developing a team of estimators.
• Proficiency with major estimating software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage, mentor and review the work of a team of 3–5 estimators.
• Build production-based estimates for large underground utility and civil projects.
• Prepare competitive bids for public agencies and utility owners.
• Analyze RFPs, scopes, plans and specs; perform take-offs and bid schedules.
• Lead pre-bid meetings and bid strategy sessions.
